Nigeria’ s Captain, Goalkeeper, Win Laurels Curtains Fall On 2024 edition

Aside from winning the trophy in the 2024 edition of the Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Championship which ended tonight in Morocco, two Nigerian players stood out at the tournament..
They are goal keeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and talisman and captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, the maestro of the Suoef Falcons.
Nigeria’ s Super Falcons beat the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco by three goals to two to lift the trophy for a historic 10th time.
Nigeria ‘s Safe hands , Chiamaka Nnadozie, was voted the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
She conceded four goals at the tournament, comprising two penalty kicks and two from regular play.
The two non- penalty goals came in today’s encounter against Morocco in the 13 th minute through Captain Cheebak, who emerged the highest goal scorer of the tournament with five goals, the same feat he attained at the 2022; edition, and in the 25th minute via a goal scored by Missoudy.
Another Nigerian star and captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, was voted the player of the tournament.
She had the privilege of being handed the trophy by CAF President, Mose Mosepe and the FIFA President, Infantino.
Other winners at WAFCON are the Bayana Bayana of South Africa who won the fair play team and Moroccan talisman and captain , Cheebak who was named the highest goal scorer.
