Hosts, Morocco, came from behind to earn a lone goal draw in regular and extra time to take the game into a penalty shootout in which they overwhelmed an impressive Ghana in tonight’s semi final tie at WAFCON in Morocco.
The hosts , by their victory, set up a crack tie against power house, Nigeria, who beat South Africa in the first semi- final game of the night.
The final is due on Saturday after the third place duel between Ghana and South Africa on Friday.
In their game, Ghana took the lead in the 27 th minute of play and held on till the end of that stanza.
On resumption of play, Morocco rallied to their cause, desperately seeking the equaliser for the night.
And they did not have to wait for much longer before fortune smiled on them.
The equaliser was all what they needed to take the game to an even keel.
Without any more goals for any of the teams, the regular time ended a lone goal apiece without a winner.
In the extra time, the situation remained the same, despite the strident efforts of each team to establish dominance and earn the winning goal.
They were not lucky, and without a winner at the end of the extra time of play, the referee signalled for the spot kicks, in which Morocco netted their four kicks, and the Black Queens of Ghana, lost two .
