Police in Delta State have arrested a 39-year-old man, Alawode Olaide, after his American guest, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, died in Warri.
Elton, 60, arrived on September 15 to visit Olaide, whom she met on social media.
She fell ill on September 29 and was rushed to a private hospital in Otokutu, before being referred to Central Hospital, Warri, where doctors confirmed her dead on arrival.
Her body has been deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
Police said the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further probe.
