The secret service of the United States says it had “disrupted” a communication threat to the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, due to begin soon in New York.
The service, more officially called the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) did not give much details beyond saying that it had uncovered a plethora of computers and ” thousands,” of Subscriber Identification Modules (,SIM) cards.
Meanwhile, the UNGA is set to begin its session to mark its 80th anniversary.
The Secretary,- General of the United Nations UN, Antonio Guterres, is to open the session with a speech in which he is likely to draw attention to the effects of Climate Change, the ongoing wars in parts of the world , and the necessity for the reform of the United Nations, ( UN), especially its Security Council, in which five permanent members – China, Britain, Russia, France and America- exercise veto power.
Guterres is expected to be followed by the President of Brazil, Luna Da Silva, and, later, President Donald Trump, who is host associate America’s President.
