The President of America, Donald Trump, says he has made up his mind on a military action in Venezuela
Trump, fielding reporters’ questions on Saturday, said he had ” sort of made up my mind’ on the Venezuela issue.
He would not give details but had consistently nursed the ambition of a regime change, the euphemism for a coup, against the administration of President Nicolas Moduro, who, himself has not backed down on his anti- Trump rhetorics.
The weekend confirmation of a potential military action comes as America began a five-day military drill off the coast of Venezuela to which it has deployed core military assets, including the single largest military ship in the world, the Aircraft Carrier, Gerard Ford.
America had labelled Maduro a hard drug baron and placed a bounty on him,but had failed to publicly present credible evidence of its charge of his involvement in illicit hard drug trade.
Trump has ordered 29 military strikes on Vessels he said were carrying hard drugs to America.
More than 70 persons have been killed in the strikes in the Caribbean axis.
