President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam as the new Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company.
This announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday, signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
According to Imohiosen, the appointment, effective from April 3, 2025, complies with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as amended.
Prior to this new role, Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam served as the Technical Adviser to the Honourable Minister of Steel Development and as Special Assistant (Academics) to the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).
In his new position, President Tinubu has tasked Abdulsalam with utilizing his extensive experience in the steel industry to transform Ajaokuta Steel Company, creating both upstream and downstream industrial activities. The goal is to position Nigeria as Africa’s industrial hub, aligning with the diversification objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
