Tibetan Spiritual Leader, Dalai Lama, today marked his 90th birthday.
The celebration held in India where he had been in exile for close to
61 Gregorian years, after China, which claims sovereignty over Tibet, also called The Little Land of God, invaded and annexed Tibet.
The Dalai celebrated with a select group of dignitaries and faithful, including representatives of his 7 million Tibetan nation.
He did not talk much , but reiterated his remark earlier this week that, after his death, his successor must be chosen based on existing Tibetan traditions, not the dictates of China.
China had invaded and annexed Tibet, a Himalayan community, in the 1960s, and insists that any talks of the successor to the Dalai Lama, who is one of the most eminent spiritual leaders in the world, must be at its dictates .
