Three persons, including two pupils, and the gunman, have died in a shooting spree today in a Catholic Church in Minneapolis, America.
The two kids were aged two and eight, and the identity of the gunman had yet to be established and made public.
The police believe that the gunman, who had a rifle, a short gun and a pistol, had no accomplice and that he had shot himself after the shooting spree.
He reportedly left behind a vehicle in which he had gone to the school where the pupils were holding Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church, which also runs their school in the same premises.
The school had resumed last week for the current academic session.
Aside from the dead, Minneapolis Police Department Chief, Brian O’Hara, said 17 other persons, including 14 children, were wounded in the assault.
He confirmed that two of those injured were in critical conditions, and described the act as a deliberate act of targeting children.
The Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, apologized for the security breach and condoled with the affected families.
He said that nobody deserved to die in that manner.
Cases of mass shootings are regular in America.
