Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), supported by the Air Component, have killed nine Boko Haram terrorists, including two senior commanders, in Borno State.
According to reports, the operations were carried out between August 21 and 22 and successfully foiled planned terrorist attacks in Bita and Wulgo.
The slain commanders were Abu Nazir, Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, Munzir of Koloram neutralised during a fierce gun battle at the Wulgo axis.
Items recovered from the operation included AK-47 rifles, a cache of ammunition, and six motorcycles belonging to the insurgents.
The military high command commended the troops for their success and urged them to sustain the momentum in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign despite persistent challenges.
