Senator Abba Moro: Six years of  impactful representation

By Emmanuel Eche’Ofun  John

This month (June 13, 2025)  made   it six years that the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro PhD took the stage to represent the good people of Benue Zone C in the Senate.

Before becoming a senator, Abba Moro, known for his capacity, competence, capability, intelligence and love for the masses, had held several positions where he left indelible marks in the anal of history.

Since assuming office, Senator Moro has been consistent, focused and deliberate in making robust laws for the country and delivering on his campaign promises to his people. His achievements, which are visible everywhere gave him a second term with ease in 2023.

In the 10th Senate, Senator Moro has been shinning like a star and making histories everywhere. In the senate, his voice is loud and clear with his quality bills and motions, and sound contributions to topical issues. He’s not an absentee senator or one who looks on but an active, vocal and eloquent legislator whose opinions are always sought.

Senator Moro’s emergence as Senate Minority Leader on the 21st November, 2023, was an icing on the cake. The appointment, which, received applauses from across the country, strategically positions Senator Moro to be amongst the decision-makers and opinion moulders not just in the senate but the entire country.

Senator Moro’s political presence has not just been one of visibility, but of substance; a quiet but forceful dedication to principle, representation, and national stability. Today, he stands not merely as a legislator, but as an icon of purpose-driven governance.

Unlike many who posture with so much noise and propaganda, Senator Moro has embraced his legislative and leadership roles with a measured approach. He does not seek the spotlight for spectacle but commands it through consistent advocacy for security, constitutionalism, development, youths/women empowerment, equity and rule of law.

In conclusion, Senator Moro’s political journey reveals a man driven by conviction to impact lives, and not any personal gains. As a lawmaker, his voice is loud in defense of his people’s rights and privileges when it matters. As Minority Leader, his voice resonates not just as a critic, but as a stakeholder in Nigeria’s fragile democratic project.

He’s a performer and the cap truly fits him. He will continue to provide the needed leadership and representation for the good of his constituents and Nigerians at large.

It’s all about the people, nothing about self!

Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John,
Media Adviser to the Senate Minority Leader
