……Synergising NBS, Sight Savers Nigeria,
To aggressively address the demands and provision of the decade of action agenda, 2020-2030, that is geared towards addressing all vulnerable issues in the country, domestically and in accordance with global provision, the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs has launched an additional program to collaborate with the Goals , the Nigeria Inclusive Data Charter Action Plan (IDC), 2024.
The launch carried out to consolidate the Voluntary National Review (VNR), SDGs progress report locally and internationally was in collaboration with the hub of calculations with accuracy, the National Bureau of Statistics NBS along with sight savers Nigeria, a non governmental organization NGO to guide against inaccuracies and unethical conducts.
Under the leadership of Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs SSAP-SDGs, the synergy between the NBS and SDGs is coming for the second time with huge success story.
Convened in 2024, to galvanise the activities of the global body towards carrying all segments of the society along and living no one behind is geared towards data driven and evidence based program.
For sight savers , their presence in more than 30 countries in Africa which included Nigeria and Asia to train health workers, provide eye operations, support people with disabilities, improve women’s health across the globe.

“The Nigeria SDGs Progress Report 2024, unveiled at the workshop, provides a detailed goal-by-goal analysis of achievements and setbacks, while offering strategic recommendations for policy makers at all levels.”
“Orelope-Adefulire also announced the launch of Nigeria’s Inclusive Data Charter Action Plan 2024, developed in partnership with the National Bureau of Statistics and Sightsavers Nigeria. “Our commitment to leaving no one behind must be data driven and evidence based,” she said.”
“She added that the IDC Plan reinforces Nigeria’s commitment to disaggregated and inclusive data systems as the foundation of accountable development.”
“She praised the Multi-Stakeholder Core Working Group for its coordination of the VNR process, acknowledging its diverse membership spanning government agencies, the UN system, civil society, academia, and the disability community”
The collaboration with local national agency, the Nigeria Board of Statistics NBS and sight savers Nigeria, a global body will drive the SDGs program to fruition.
Getting accurate data and evidences in all ramifications will assist in no small measure to reach out the needed people in the society.
