Samuel Hezekiah Egburonu, Publisher of NewsOrient Network and member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, is among the 942 new lawyers formally called to the Nigerian Bar as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The Call to Bar ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Body of Benchers Complex in Abuja.
While admitting the aspirants into the legal profession, Chairman of the Body of Benchers, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, charged the new lawyers to uphold the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, protect the rule of law, and remain committed to justice at all times.
The colourful ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice K. M. O. Kekere-Ekun, GCON; Vice Chairman of the Body of Benchers, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje, SAN; Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN; President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN; Secretary of the Body of Benchers, Daniel M. Tela, Esq; as well as several Life Benchers and Benchers.
Also present were Chief Emeka Ngige, OFR, SAN, Chairman of the Council of Legal Education; Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma, SAN, Director-General of the Nigerian Law School; and Aderonke O. Osho (MS), Secretary of the Council of Legal Education.
