The Palestinian branch of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, ICRC, in Gaza, Palestine, says it is suspending its field operations in the embattled city.
In a statement today, the organization said the suspension followed the inclemency of their operational circumstances created by the ongoing Israeli military action in Gaza.
Israeli is conducting a high heel military campaign in the city in order to seize and occupy it.
The ICRC move follows last week ‘s decision by Medesins Sans Frontiers (Doctors Without Borders) which said it was pulling out of the city due to the indiscriminate Israeli bombardment of the city,including in areas proximate to their health facilities.
MSF had said that the Indiscriminate gunfire of the Israeli Defence Force troops was creating a big real time threat to its personnel and patients.
The Red Cross move comes as pressure continues to mount in the Palestinian group, Hamas, to accept the American peace proposal for ending the nearly two-year old war .
The ICRC, like the MSF, the European Union, EU, and the United Nations , UN, had accused Israel of conducting a genocide in Gaza.
Israel rejected the charge.
