President Bola Tinubu has commenced a 10-day working vacation, during which he will split his time between France and the United Kingdom. The trip, part of his official 2025 schedule, began on September 4.
Although designated as a vacation, the President is expected to engage in diplomatic meetings and other official engagements while abroad, underscoring the “working” nature of the visit.
This short break offers a temporary pause from the demands of leading Africa’s most populous nation. Upon completion of the trip, President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria and resume his duties.
The vacation follows a series of recent international engagements, including visits to the United Arab Emirates and Brazil, where President Tinubu participated in the Global South-South Cooperation Summit.
In his absence, Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to oversee key government functions, ensuring continuity in leadership.
The development was announced in an official statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.
