PDP Shifts National Convention to November, Picks Ibadan as New Venue
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled its National Elective Convention, originally slated for August, to November 15 and 16, 2025, and relocated the venue to Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
This decision was disclosed by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, during a press briefing held Thursday in Abuja following the party’s 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
The upcoming convention is crucial, as it will witness the election of a new National Working Committee (NWC) to lead the party into the next four years.
Ologunagba further revealed that the NEC has approved the membership of both the National Convention Committee and the Zoning Committee, tasking them with ensuring a transparent, credible, and inclusive process ahead of the event.
The shift in date and venue—from Kano to Ibadan—is seen as a strategic move, possibly aimed at reconciling party interests and strengthening support in the South West region.
