…..As Osun PDP Endorses Tinubu
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has dismissed claims that he is planning to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or align with its National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The rumour followed Aregbesola’s visit to ex-Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Adeleke’s recent praise of Aregbesola as a “worthy Governor in the history of Osun State.”
In a statement on Friday, Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, clarified that the Governor remains firmly in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and is not part of any coalition with ADC leaders.
“Our attention has been drawn to news reports and media enquiries about the imminent defection of Governor Adeleke to the ADC or alignment with ADC big wigs ahead of the 2026 governorship race. There is no truth in those publications and speculations.
“First of all, we, the PDP Osun, have already adopted and endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, so there is no alliance with ADC. Adeleke has no alliance with anyone in ADC,” he said.
He emphasized that Adeleke will contest and win re-election in 2026 under the PDP banner, citing the Governor’s performance as the key reason for his strong public support.
“The Osun electorate supports Adeleke because of his impressive performance since he came to office… Osun people are committed to sustaining the delivery of good governance by re-electing Governor Adeleke in 2026,” the statement added.
Rasheed also urged PDP members to keep strengthening the party ahead of the next election.
