NSF24: OGUN TO BUILD MORE FACILITIES AFTER GATEWAY GAMES – Isiaka.

Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun would build more facilities at the MKO Abiola International Stadium Abeokuta in line with his administrations desire to enhance the sporting facilities in the state as well as the grooming of young talents in the state.
The Commissioner for Sports Development, Ogun State, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka revealed this while briefing journalists covering the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged Gateway Games, Ogun 2024.
Hon Isiaka said the vast land at the MKO Abiola International Stadium would be judiciously utilized to ensure that young talents discovered from across the state would get world class facilities that would prime them into becoming champions.
The Commissioner averred that the vast land would be partitioned into three distinct facilities that would cater for the sporting needs, entertainment needs as well as relaxation outlets that would attract people from all walks of life to the stadium thereby keeping it in regular use.
He assured that no stone would be left unturned to ensure that Ogun State took its rightful place in Nigeria’s sports circle as the state was blessed with immense talents who had taken the world by storm in the past especially in recent times Tobilola Amusan among others.
Meanwhile Team Delta maintained its stranglehold on the medals table after garnering 44 gold, 19 silver and 40 bronze medals and are followed by neighbour’s Bayelsa which has collected 33 gold, 23 silver and 23 bronze medals.
2011 hosts Team Rivers are in third place after claiming 26 gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze medals with hosts Team Ogun in fourth place after picking 25 gold, 16 silver and 26 bronze medals.
Oyo are in fifth place after gathering 16 gold, 17 silver and 21 bronze medals with one time winners Team Edo in sixth after claiming 14 gold, 48 silver and 45 bronze medals.
Four time winners Lagos State is seventh on the Medals table after picking 11 gold, 11 silver and 25 bronze medals with Osun State in eighth place following a collection of 10 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals just as Abia are placed ninth following it s collection of 6 gold, 8 silver and 21 bronze medals and Plateau complete the top ten after garnering 4 gold, 3 silver and 11 bronze medals.
