Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of Nigerian international Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, with the striker putting pen to paper on a contract that will keep her in the French capital until June 30, 2027.
Born on December 8, 1999, in Lagos’ Mushin district, Ajibade rose to prominence as a teenage sensation with Nigerian top-flight side FC Robo Queens. Her early talent earned her the NFF Young Player of the Year award in 2018, cementing her reputation as one of Africa’s brightest footballing prospects.
The 25-year-old arrives at PSG after three successful seasons in Spain with Atlético de Madrid, where she featured regularly in Liga F. In the 2024–2025 campaign, Ajibade made 25 appearances, scoring eight goals and registering three assists. Prior to her stint in Spain, she spent two years in Norway with Avaldsnes IL.
Ajibade is also a cornerstone of the Nigerian women’s national team. Serving as captain, she has guided the Super Falcons to two Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumphs, first in 2018 and again in 2024. She played a central role for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and represented her country at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. With over 30 caps to her name, she is widely regarded as a leader and inspiration within African football.
Speaking after completing her move, Ajibade expressed her excitement:
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”
PSG welcomed their new forward warmly, hailing her as a major addition to their women’s squad.
With her mix of pace, skill, and leadership, Ajibade will be looking to make an immediate impact in Division 1 Féminine and on the European stage as PSG chase domestic and continental glory.
