Ika South LG Chairman Begins Historic Town Hall Meeting tomorrow
In a bid to define the principle of accountability and demonstrate deference to the electorate, the Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr Jerry Ehiwarior, is to begin a series of town hall meetings with the people of the local government area of Delta State.
The first session is to hold tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Ika National Hall, Agbor.
Subsequent sessions will hold in different selected towns across the local government area.
A statement to this effect by Jonathan Onwuka, the Chief Press Secretary ( CPS) to the Chairman, said the event will begin by 9 a.m. at the hall in Agbor.
Mr. Onwuka said that the event is expected to attract participants from the royalty, the political class, the academia, traders, farmers, artisans and sundry other interests.
The CPS added that there would be no holds barred at the event which, he said, is the first of its kind in the area in recent times.
He added that the event represents the abiding faith of the Chairman in democracy which revolves around the people, and stands as a testimonial to his inviolable commitment to accountability as the fulcrum of people- based public administration.
According to Onwuka, the Chairman, at the event, would not only account for his stewardship in his first year in office and lay out his future plans for the local government area, but also field questions from participants.
Onwuka urged all stakeholders to turn up enmasse and hear directly from the Chairman on any issues bothering them.
