The Chairman, Warri South Local Government of Delta State, Hon. Isaac Agbateyinro, has promised to continue to improve the welfare of the people in the area by providing the essential things needed to uplift their standard of living.
According to him, more development initiatives will be taken to further reduce any challenge/hardship being faced by the populace.
Agbateyinro said this on Wednesday when selected journalists led by the State Council Chairman, Churchill Oyowe, visited the local government headquarters in Warri to verify the progress of the work being done in the locality.
“Our visit is to verify the extent of work being executed and the dividends of democracy being extended for the benefit of the people in the area. Ours is not a jamboree and we heard from the grapevine that the council, led by the chairman, is doing a lot of things to improve the welfare of the populace”, stressed the NUJ state boss.
“We are going to visit all the local government areas to be abreast with their level of development, although we had already visited Bomadi Council Area”, remarked Oyowe who later inspected a lot of ongoing projects in Warri and environs.
Earlier, many supervisory councilors who spoke during the interactive session commended the local government chairman for fulfilling his electioneering promises to the people.
The chairman, represented by the Deputy Leader of the legislative council, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Egbe, eulogized the virtues of Hon. Agbateyinro, who he described as a workaholic and a man of purpose.
“He is actually fulfilling his promises to the people and we hope for more”, said Hon. Egbe.
