I will always hold Senator David Mark in high esteem……. Sen Abba Moro
……Says No rift with my leader
The attention of the senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro PhD, has been drawn to a series of publications by Dr. Adakole Elijah, wherein some vile and false remarks were made about him.
In one of the posts trending online, Adakole wrote, “It has been brought to our attention that a certain indigenous potentate has clandestinely enlisted a coterie of youths from a particular quadrant of the Benue South Senatorial District to unleash a torrent of vitriolic invective upon our revered icon, Senator David Mark.”
In another publication, he said, “…since their mass exodus, the new leaders of the ADC have been subjected to a barrage of vitriolic diatribes, with Senator David Mark being singled out for particularly egregious excoriation.”
“His successor, Senator Abba Moro, has been at the forefront of these attacks, averring that the decision to decamp was predicated on grievances and frustrated expectations,” he added.
Senator Moro finds these assertions by Mr Elijah Adakole laughable, very unfortunate, and uncharitable. As someone who has been there all along, having served as Senator Moro’s campaign DG, and knows the relationship between Senator David Mark, GCON, and Senator Abba Moro, PhD, the latter had expected him to be in a better position to properly educate and enlighten people on what he can say about his predecessor and what he cannot say.
For the records, Senator Moro, who served as Senator Mark’s campaign DG, has always defended his records in office and has never spoken a word against Senator Mark before, and since the latter’s defection from PDP. Senator Moro has never spoken against him; not in the public, not in the private. If anything, he has been hushing up supporters from making disparaging remarks about the political development in Benue South, asking that the right of association being expressed by the defectors should be respected, and that’s why no official statement from his office has been issued about the defection since.
As a principled public servant and former DG to Senator Mark, Senator Moro will never speak from both sides of the mouth; to praise Senator David Mark and defend his records in office, and now turn around to impugn him and his records.
Senator Moro is a person of expedience. What he saw in Senator David Mark yesterday is what he’s seeing in him today. He was not brought up in the tradition of insulting elders and wishes to state categorically clear that he holds Senator Mark in very high esteem and will accord him respect always. He can never and will never instigate anybody to attack the respected elder statesman who he calls ‘Boss of all Bosses’ or anybody for that matter as he has nothing to gain from such irresponsibility.
The senator appeals to Adakole Elijah and his co-travellers to use their pens and media spaces to unite leaders and not create enmity between them. He also wishes to inform Adakole that he does not keep media attack dogs and does not need social media urchins to remain relevant in the politics of Benue South Senatorial District.
Senator Moro believes strongly that Benue South is better off as a united people, and not even political platforms should make anyone demonize anybody.
He urges the public to subject whatever they read online to serious scrutiny before absorbing them.
