In a manner akin to retaliation, the Peoples Republic of China has in more than equal proportion imposed a 34 per cent tariff on all goods from the Donald Trump led United State of America.
Donald Trump had imposed about 54 per cent tariff on goods entering America.
In a swift reaction, China has imposed a comprehensive 34 per cent tariff on all goods from America. It takes effect from April 10, 2025.
It follows Thursday ‘ s imposition of a 54 per cent tariff imposed by American President Donald Trump on the Asian country, which is the second single largest economy in the world after America.
Trump had unilaterally imposed stiff tariffs on imports from many countries across the world, leading to swift responsorial action from two of its neighbours, Canada and Mexico.
Canadian President Mark Carney, has also severed economic and security ties with America.
