Former governorship aspirant in Kogi State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh, has condoled with the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, over the death of his mother, late Mrs. Lydia Nentawe, who was laid to rest last Saturday.
In a condolence message, Ugonoh described the late matriarch as a woman of virtue who lived a life of service to humanity. He said although death is inevitable, the loss of a mother leaves a deep void, urging the APC chairman to take solace in the worthy legacies his mother left behind.
The former Adviser to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Diaspora Affairs commended Professor Nentawe for demonstrating rare leadership capacity since assuming office, noting that his engagements with all levels of the party and efforts at reconciling aggrieved members have shown commitment to repositioning the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, “Professor Nentawe’s ability to motivate, adapt and build relationships that strengthen the party and the country are qualities younger politicians should emulate.”
Ugonoh, who holds the traditional title of Santuraki of Ebiraland, said the current economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are already yielding positive results, insisting that Nigeria is gradually exiting its toughest phase.
“All nations that achieved economic stability passed through similar processes. Nigeria is already on the path of recovery, and with commitment and political will, we will smile at the end of the day,” he stated.
He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue supporting the APC-led government, while praying for God to grant the APC national chairman the fortitude to bear the loss and grant his late mother eternal rest.
