The former National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajia Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma, has commiserated with the family of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, over his demise.
In a statement released on Monday, she described President Buhari as a man dedicated to the values of justice, discipline, and honesty.
According to her, he was a leader who lived a simple life, showed courage, and remained committed to serving the Nigerian people, even in difficult times.
She stated that President Buhari’s achievements would always be remembered in the history of Nigeria, noting that he served with honour in the military and later as a civilian President.
“He worked for important changes, fought corruption, gave his best to move the country forward, and kept it united.”
She maintained that the late President Buhari lived a life of sacrifice and deep love for the nation, and that he left a lasting impact on Nigeria’s path to growth and good leadership.
She prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive him his shortcomings and reward him with Aljanatul Firdaus, while also praying for strength for the immediate family to bear the loss.

“It is with great sadness that I write to send my condolences to the family of His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on his passing.
As the former National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, I had the opportunity to see how dedicated President Buhari was to Nigeria and to the values of justice, discipline, and honesty. He was a leader who lived a simple life, showed courage, and was always committed to serving the Nigerian people, even in difficult times.
President Buhari’s achievements will always be remembered in the history of our country. He served with honour in the military and later as a civilian President, where he worked for important changes, stood firmly against corruption, and gave his best efforts to keep Nigeria united and moving forward. He lived a life full of sacrifice and deep love for the nation, and he has left a lasting impact on Nigeria’s path to growth and good leadership.
At this time of national sorrow, I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him a place in Aljanatul Firdaus, and gives his family the strength to bear this great loss.
