Dozens Feared Drowned, 10 Rescued As Migrant Boats Capsizes Off Malaysia
Thirteen .persons were rescued overnight and 11 bodies recovered as dozens of others were missing after a migrant boat in which they were travelling capsized in the island of Langkawi, off the coast of Malaysia, locals said.
The boat went t down for as yet unknown causes at the border betweenThailand and Malaysia.
The migrants, suspected of being asylum seekers had set sail last week from Myanmar where the minority Rohingya ethnic group had been under the jackboot of the military junta.
The migrants were believed to be of the Rohingya ethnic stock.
Locals said those rescued had told them that up to 300 of them had boarded the boat as they made for Malaysia.
More than 500,000 Rohingya people have fled Myanmar ( formerly called Burma) since the military junta seized power.

BBC Chiefs Resign Over Trump Panorama Features
Two chiefs of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) have thrown in the towel, following allegations that the corporations editing of the January 6, speech of America. President Donald Trump, had been edited out of context.
Trump,in the speech, had rejected the outcome of the 2020 presidential poll that he lost to Joe Biden, and appeared to encourage his supporters to march on Capitol Hill, Washington, to protest.
In presenting the speech, the BBC appeared to have taken part of the speech out of context, thus eliciting the ire, mainly of Trump ‘s supporters, who accused the organization of systemic wilful misrepresentation of Trump.
Following the allegation, the Director -General of the BBC, Tim Davies, and the Director of News and Current Affairs, Deborah Turness, tendered their resignation letters on Sunday night.
The Chairman of the BBC is due to appear before the House Committee to respond to charges levelled by its critics, mainly supporters of Trump, that it had been willfully biased in its presentation of the panorama.

Cop30 Confab Begins Later Today
The 30th edition of the global conference on Climate Change begins today in the Brazilian Amazon Region.
The conference is holding against the backdrop of the absence of core pollutants- America, China and India.
Trump had strongly criticised the Climate Change process as a hoax , describing it as the biggest fraud ever committed in human history.
Brazil, a crude oil producer, is host and its President , Luis Lula Da Silva, aid the meeting would focus on commitment, rather than fresh proposals.
A core element of the Climate Change process is the desire to cut down on global production and consumption of fosfiks girls of oil, gas and coal.

31 Die, Many Others Injured I’m Prison Riots
At least 31 inmates have died in prison riots in Ecuador.
The riots broke out among inmates for as yet unknown reasons.
It was learnt that four inmates were killed in the riots and 27 others died of asphyxiation.
The riots in the Machala prison happened on Sunday during an effort to reorganize the prison inmates, but the specific cause of the riots remained unknown.

Syrian Interim President Visits America
The interim President of Syria , Ahmed Al- Asharaa, is set to meet the President of America Donald Trump later today in the course of his historic visit to America.
The former rebel leader is the first Syruan leader to visit America in the past 80 years
He is expected to discuss the lifting of sanctions on his country, the controversial support of America for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) rebels fighting his government and holding territory , the Israeli blind support of the Druze minority and its military presence in the country as well as the reconstruction of the war -torn country after nearly 50 years of absolute dictatorship of former leader, Assad.
America, on its part, would table the issue of Syria joining the Abraham Accord on regional countries signing peace deals with Israel, and the product of joining America in the fight against ISIS, of which Asharaa was an ally until recently…

Beijing’s Eased Chips Tariff Regime Kicks In
The eased regime of tariffs imposed on Chinese chip exports has kicked in today.
The easing was effected following mutual reviews by both China and America, the two largest cmsingje economies in the world,after their trade talks.
The development has largely been hailed across the globe .
China had imposed a 24 percent tariff on its chip exports after Trump imposed stiff regime of tariffs on it .
However, following mutual talks, both countries agreed to review their actions.
Beijing is the single largest processor of raw Earth minerals, accounting for 90 per cent of global volume.
It also has the largest deposit of the materials .

US Shutdown Set To End
The longest shutdown in American history appears set to end soon.
This followed the remarkable progress made on Sunday night when six Democrats and an Independent Senator aligned with the Republicans to pass a temporary funding plan to side step the shutdown.
The shutdown, now in its 41st day, had led to the non- payment of 768,000 Federal Government employees , including aviation sector workers, fitlr two months running.
The shutdown had also occasioned the weekend cancellation of 1,400 flights across 40 airports in the country.
