Israel Arrests Top IDF lawyer Over Leaked Detainee Abuse Video
The Israeli government has arrested the top lawyer for the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF.)
General Yifat Tomer Yetushalmi was arrested at a beach in the capital, Tel-Aviv, hours after she resigned after she was suspended for authorizing the release of a video of Israeli officials raping a Palestinian detainee.
Yetushalmi took personal responsibility for the release of the video which the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described as the worst public relations ” propaganda” against the state of Israel and the Israeli Defence Force,IDF.
The incident happened last year and an internal probe had indicted five soldiers for the alleged offence.
Netanyahu said nothing about the victim, who has now been released as part of the country’ s deal with Hamas to end their two- year old war.
Yetushalmi is due to be charged to court on multiple alleged offences, including fraud, breach of trust and obstruction of justice.
She has since been stripped of her rank and dismissed.
Sudan
75 Per Cent of Sudan’s SChl Age Children Out of School
More than three – quarters ( 75 Per cent) of school age children in Sudan are not attending school.
This is the claim made by Save The Children, a global nonprofit Non- governmental organization devoted to the well-being of children.
It said that 7 million children had not registered for basic school education, while 6 Million others who had registered could not attend because of violence.
Sudan has been in the throes of a debilitating civil war between the federalist Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces RSF, which has control of all of the Darfur Region and parts of Kordofan Region.
Save The Children said that more than 55 per cent of all primary schools in the country had been shut because of the war, while 10 per cent of them had been converted to a refugee camp for internally displaced persons.
Meanwhile, the RSF has said that it has arrested and detained some of its fighters allegedly involved in large scale humanitarian abuses in Darfur, especially Al- Fasher, which fell to it penultimate Sunday night.
It said those detained included Abi Lulu, who is accused of multiple.caxes of rape and summary executions.
It gave no further details.
Both the United Nations (UN )and the International Criminal Court ,(ICC) had said that a large scale humanitarian crisis was ongoing in Darfur.
The ICC added that the abuses could constitute crimes against humanity.
The city of Al- Fasher had been under siege for 17 months before it fell to the RSF.

Israel Attacks Gaza Again
Israel has again attacked the Gaza Strip , despite its professed commitment to the ceasefire between it and Hamas
. Today’ s attacks were in RaFah and Al- Burej Refuge Camp.
Details of the extent of damage and the specific targets were not readily available at press time, but a source said that the attacks came against the backdrop of the continuing demolition of private and public property by Israeli troops in the part of Gaza controlled by them
There are also regular drone and fighter jets over flights in the area in breach of the ceasefire.
