More than 100 Die In Israeli Attacks
More than 104 persons have been killed in multiple Israeli strikes in Gaza since yesterday, the Hamas- run Gaza Ministry of Health said today.
The dead included 18 members of the same family, and more than 40 others killed in a strike on a shelter in central Gaza.
Scores of others were wounded in the attacks which Israel said targeted 30 sites.
The attacks followed what Israel called the breach of the ceasefire between it and Hamas ,by the fatal attack on its troops in Rafah.
Hamas denied the Israeli charge, saying it had no link to whatever Israel said happened in the southern Gaza city.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, ordered the strikes after what he termed a serious breach of the ceasefire by Hamas .
He had apparently reached out to American President, Donald Trump, who, in a chat with the media, said that Israel had the right to retribution in the event of a breach, though the ceasefire remained sacrosanct.
Both Israel and Hamas have repeatedly accused each other of breaching the ceasefire.
Hamas has delayed the return of the body of an Israeli hostage earlier scheduled for yesterday, citing Ustaelisbresced of the ceasefire.
Hamas is yet to hand over the bodies of 13 hostages as it undetyook to do under the 20- point peace plan of Donald Trump.
