Zelensky Carpets Putin Ahead Monday Meeting With Trump
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky has sharply criticised his, Russian counterpart, Vladimir Viktor Putin, for allegedly stalling the prospects of a ceasefire in the war between their countries.
Zelensky said that by refusing to agree to a ceasefire deal with the American President, Donald Trump at their historic Friday meeting in Alaska, Putin had complicated discussions on peace talks between both countries regarding ending their three year old war.
The comments of Zelensky comes just days before he is due to meet Trump in Washington on Monday.
At the upcoming meeting, Trump is expected to give Zelensky sinews of his discussions with Putin on Friday.
Meanwhile leaders of the European Union (EU) are expected to have a virtual meeting later today to coordinate positions on the war and amplify the Ukrainian leader ahead of the Washington meeting
The EU, at the prodding of Germany and France, had been at the heart of the military and other firms of support for Ukraine which has also been actively backed by Britain.
Together with America, the EU and Britain have reportedly committed more than $400billion worth of military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine since the war began three years ago.

Israeli Protest Move To Occupy Gaza
Thousands of Israelis have begun a protest against the move of their Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu , to occupy all of Gaza.
The protests are holding at the Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, and come ahead of today’s planned nationwide strike at the o vupation plan.
The strike is the first by the public in recent times against the policy of Prime Minister Netanyahu who, buoyed on by far right members of his coalition government, has set eyes on the full occupation of the entire Gaza Strip.
The protesters say that aside from constituting a breach of international law, the plan risks putting the lives of the remaining hostages still in the custody of Hamas in jeopardy either from Hamas fighters and their captors but also from friendly fire by Israeli troops, as had happened in the past.
It is believed that there are still about 50 hostages in Hamas custody, with 20 of them still alive.
Hamas, earlier this year, released some of the hostages as part of a ceasefire deal with Israel , but the prospects of further releases dimmed after Israel later broke the terms of the ceasefire and resumed full blown war on Gaza
More than 180,000 Palestinian casualties, including about 62,000 fatalities,, have been recorded during the war , according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
Israel, which has a tradition of under- reporting its conflict casualties , recently admitted to the loss of around 900 troops, including around 450 killed during the war on Gaza.

The visas were being mainly issued to ailing and wounded Gazans who had come to harm during the Israeli war on the enclave of Gaza.
But now,the policy has been suspended, according to the American State Department.
It remained unclear why the visa policy was suspended nor were there words as to for how long the suspension would last.
However, the development comes amid subsisting strong American support fur Israel despite growing global condemnation of its policies on Gaza and the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Israel has blocked the supply of food, water, medicines and fuel into Gaza as part of its war efforts.
