Spanish giants, Real Madrid, tonight overcame a resilient Borussia Dortmund of Germany by three goals to two to earn the last semi final ticket at the FIFA Club World Cup championship in America.

On resumption, both teams tried to do some assertiveness but the scoreline remained unchanged until the 90 th minute when Beier netted the first goal of the tie for the Germans.
However, hardly had the excitement that greeted the goal subsided when, off a heave into the vital area of the Germans, talismanic Kylian Mbappe acrobatically smashed home the third for Real in the second minute of added time.
He later picked a yellow card for arguing with the referee.
More drama had actually preceded the Mbappe Yellow card because just minutes before then, Dean Huijsen had, in a moment of poor discretion, forcibly fouled Chukwuemeka, Nigerian playmaker for Borusssia Dortmund in the vital area.
The offence earned him a straight red card and the award of a spot kick which was tucked in for the second goal for the Germans.
By the victory, Real Madrid face European Football Champions, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) of France in the upcoming semi -final tie ,while Chelsea tackle surviving Brazilian side, Fluminense in the second match in the group of four.
