The Nasarawa State Government has secured approval from the Federal Government to construct two flyovers in Mararaba to ease the area’s chronic traffic congestion.
The Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Agency (NUDA), Mr. Wada Muhammed, announced this on Thursday in Lafia, saying the approval was granted by the Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi, following a request from Governor Abdullahi Sule.
“By the grace of God, Gov. Sule has secured approval from the Minister on Oct. 27 to construct two flyovers in Mararaba. These flyovers will end the persistent traffic congestion in the area and make movement easier for residents, motorists and travellers,” Muhammed said.
He added that construction would begin soon and be completed within 18 months. Muhammed also noted steady progress on the Keffi flyover project, explaining that minor delays were due to design adjustments to protect a major underground water pipe.
He further revealed that the Lafia flyover and underpass were undergoing asphalt upgrades to improve durability. Muhammed appealed for public patience and support as the state continues to expand infrastructure across all local government areas.
