Ill – Fated third Republic Governor of Kwara State, Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo is dead.
Informed sources confirmed that Adebayo died Wednesday morning in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Late Adebayo was a three months (October 1st – December 1st 1983) Governor of Kwara State and a Senator of the Federal Republic under the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in 1979.
He was also a Minister of Communications between 2003 and 2007 under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Adebayo was a prominent member of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) headed by late Chief Anthony Enahoro that helped to push the military out of power.
Adebayo was born on February 24, 1941 in Igbaja Community in Kwara state.
