Senator representing Enugu East, Senator Kelvin Chukwu, has dumped the Labour Party (LP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the party’s prolonged crisis and factionalisation.
Announcing his move at a town hall meeting in his hometown Nkanu West Local Government Area, where he hails from, on Thursday, Chukwu thanked supporters and donated a vehicle and security equipment to local vigilantes.
His defection follows similar moves by other Enugu lawmakers, including Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu and Sunday Umehia, who also left Labour Party over internal leadership struggles. APC leaders praised Chukwu’s decision, calling it beneficial to his constituents.
