The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, last Saturday, had a stop over at the site of the ongoing construction of Ekuku-Agbor Modern Market being executed by his administration.
Engr. Ehiwarior, who was was excited by the level of work so far done at the market, went round the expansive ground to inspecting each of the stores which were at various levels of completion.
The Chairman, who was accompanied by some political and community leaders, was thronged by elated market women who eulogized alhim for building a modern market for Ekuku-Agbor community.
Speaking shortly after inspecting the facility, the Local Government Chairman expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of work, and assured that the project would be delivered in record time.
“I understand the need and importance of a market for an agrarian community such as Ekuku-Agbor. Farm produce would have to be sold by the farmers to buyers who come to the community in large numbers. And this market, when completed and put to use, will be of great benefit to our people,” he said.
He said his administration would continue to execute projects and provide infrastructure that would directly impact the lives of the people of Ika South.
“Our commitment to the well being of our people remains a priority. We will continue to apply resources to areas that will add value to the lives of the people,” he assured, adding that Ika South, under his watch, would experience meaningful development and growth.
Some of the women who spoke to newsmen thanked the Chairman for the market project, saying that it would help boost socio -economic activities in the community.
They prayed for God’s enablement for the administration to achieved its set goals.
In a related development, Engr. Ehiwarior was also at the Edike bridge across the Orogodo River in the Agbor metropolis on an inspection visit.
At the site, Engr. Ehiwarior reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering quality projects, and called on the people to safeguard any project sited in their area.
