Propelled by the desire to enhance human capital development of the Benue-South Senatorial District, a top contender for the Senatorial seat, Dr David Olofu has given out ten million naira as scholarship to 100 students of Benue South Senatorial District studying various courses in tertiary institutions in the country.
The recipient of this generous largesse, hailing from all the nine local government areas of Benue South, shall each receive a stipend of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00), courtesy of Dr Olofu’s philanthropic Organisation, Apa Legacy And Sustainability Initiatives.
This noble initiative is a continuation of Dr Olofu’s previous endeavors, which saw the disbursement of similar funds to indigent students in the preceding year, thereby cumulatively benefiting not fewer than 200 students to the tune of twenty million naira (20,000,000.00) over the past two years.
Dr Olofu’s humanitarian endeavors are multifaceted and far-reaching, as evidenced by his recent empowerment of approximately 100 rural women, predominantly widows, who received grants of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000.00) each to bolster their entrepreneurial pursuits.
In similar vein, Dr Olofu endowed the sum of ten million (N10,000,000.00) at the St. Helen’s Specialist Hospital, Otukpo to cater for the medical expenses of all pregnant women from Benue South Senatorial District irrespective of religious, political, tribal or social inclinations.
These gestures according to Dr Olofu were part of his expression of his gratitude to the society that has nurtured him, and a demonstration of his unwavering commitment to the development of his people.
