Delta Police Neutralise 6 Kidnap Suspects, Nab others

The Delta State Police Command says it has killed six suspected kidnappers and nabbed several others in recent operations in parts of the state.
A statement issued today by the command ‘s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police (SP) Bright Edafe, said that on July 12, the Special Anti- Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad led by Chief Superintendent of Police,Godwin Osadolor, trailed suspected kidnapperst to Ogwashi -Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state.
He claimed that during the operation, a suspected kidnapper, Sanusi Abdullahi, was allegedly nabbed with N5m, which, he, said, was part of the ransom that the suspect had taken from one of their suspects .
The police image maker alleged that the suspect and his gang had been responsible for the series of kidnappings in and around Ogwashi -Uku,Ubulu-Uku, Ibusa and Issele-Azagba.
Edafe claimed that Abdullahi led the policemen to their hideout in an area he called “Second Deputy and Oko in Asaba” where four other suspects were arrested.
He alleged that on July 9, along the Patani/ Ughelli highway, by Unenurhei axis, operatives of the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team conducted a sting operation and raided the hideout of one Solomon Danisco( alias Piccolo), Nelson Jacob,Oruma Saturday, Olise Jude, Precious Urhobowin and Whisky Rufus ( alias Asawana) , a native of Ewu.
According to the image maker, ” during the operation, the suspects, heavily armed, engaged the operatives in a fierce gun duel during which the suspects and their gang members sustained serious gunshot injuries. ”
Edafe said the suspects were taken to a hospital where six of them were confirmed dead, while two others are still receiving treatment.
Exhibits allegedly recovered from them include four locally made guns and 19 rounds of live cartridges.
