Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a strong warning, declaring that any threat directed at his former running mate, Peter Obi, amounts to a threat against everyone.
In a terse tweet posted on Tuesday afternoon, Atiku stated:
“Let it be known that a threat against Peter Obi or any of us is a threat against ALL of us! -AA”
This comment comes in response to remarks made by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who recently warned Obi not to visit the state without prior security clearance.
Governor Okpebholo alleged that during Obi’s last visit to Edo, when he donated ₦15 million to a nursing school, there was unrest in Benin City that reportedly led to the loss of lives.
The governor’s statement has drawn widespread criticism and outrage, with many condemning it as inflammatory and unacceptable.
Atiku’s response is seen as a show of solidarity with Obi and a broader call against political intimidation.
