A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress APC in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Lucky Ehiwuogwu Monye, has called for the full participation of unregistered voters in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise .
The CVR is being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the country.
Monye, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Monaco Ventures Nigeria Limited, said it was imperative for those yet to register to seize the opportunity offered by the CVR to do so.
In a media chat by telephone from Agbor, headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area, the APC Chieftain said it was necessary for them to do so for two reasons.
According to him, effective participation would enable those involved to vote in future general elections, as well as give a more reliable profile of the actual number of the electorate in any given constituency.
Monye said that the effective participation of the new registrants in future polls would strengthen Nigeria’ s democracy and its capacity to deliver more services for the benefit of the people.
He particularly appealed to those yet to register in Ika Federal Constituency to strive to prioritize participation in the CVR as it relates to the reasons outlined
Monye recalled that the Ika Federal Constituency had always been a frontline in citizen political activism, and there was the need to sustain the tempo.
He urged political and other leaders to mobilise across all barriers to ensure the full participation of Ika Federal constituents in the CVR
