The Federal Government has approved ₦1 billion for the commencement of construction of a Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, Jigawa State.
This development was revealed by Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam Madori, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Policies Affairs, during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (JSGCEP) held in Kafin Hausa.
He said, “the amount was included and approved in the 2025 budget.”
Senator Madori, who also represents Jigawa Northeast Senatorial District, noted that legislative groundwork for the institute had been completed.
“The senate has already passed the law for the establishing of the institute in Kafin Hausa.”
He explained that the project had undergone all necessary procedures and now awaits final approval from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The construction of a police training institute in Kafin Hausa has under go all processes and been passed into law by the senate and waiting for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s accentuation for immediate commencement of the project.”
According to the senator, the establishment of the institute aims to boost the quality of police training and modernize policing efforts across the country.
He added that the law for the instruction is aimed at “enhancing the accurate training of policemen for better and up-to-date policing in the country in general.”
Senator Madori also disclosed that he personally sponsored the motion for the project in the Senate.
He said he “sponsored a motion for the construction of the Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa at the Red Chamber, which was deliberated and passed into law, and concordantly made a provision of one billion naira (₦1Bn) in the 2025 budget and subsequently approved the funds for the project.”
As part of his broader support for local security infrastructure, Madori said he donated a brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicle to the Kafin Hausa Divisional Police Headquarters. He also funded the renovation and full furnishing of both the division and its police barracks.
In addition, the senator highlighted his contributions to community empowerment and religious infrastructure.
He stated that he had supported over 8,000 youths and women in Kafin Hausa and donated over ₦5 million for the completion of the Central Jumaat Mosque in the local government’s headquarters.
During the engagement event, the senator expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received from the people of Kafin Hausa and reiterated his commitment to development in the area.
