NDDC At 25 : Uzum Hails Transformational Drive Of Ebie-led Governing Board
Public affairs analyst and lawyer, Eugene Azuka Uzum, has commended the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as it marks 25 years existence.
Uzum made the commendstion in commemoration of the silver jubilee of the interventionist commission in the Niger Delta region.
Uzum maintained that the present board, management and staff of the commission under the watch of the Chairman, Mr. Chiedu Ebie; the Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku; the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Alabo Boma Iyaye; the Executive Director of Projects, Sir Victor Antai and the Executive Director of Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, had positively transformed the interventionist commission in the Niger Delta region.
He added that not only had the governing board restored public confidence in its interventionist transformation of the Niger Delta region through accountability and responsive leadership, but had continued to develop the Niger Delta region through assessment needs of the various communities in the area.
Uzum, who is also a youth advocate, hailed the unprecedented empowerment and scholarship schemes for youths of the region, adding that the commission had continued to serve as a beacon of hope for the region.
He said that the commission had not only embarked on the completion of abandoned projects, but had initiated life -saving schemes and working tirelessly to ensure the positive impacts of such schemes on the people.
Uzum commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his insight in appointing Ebie as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the commission, adding that Ebie’s exemplary leadership and administrative proficiency in the commission had made it attractive for the creation of similar interventionist bodies in other parts of the country.
He urged the people and the state governments in the region to continue to rally support for the commission for greater development of the communities in the area.
