In grand style, European champions, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) of France tonight overwhelmed Spanish team, Real Madrid, by four goals to nil.
By the victory, PSG set up a final encounter with England powerhouse, Chelsea.
The final is due on Sunday and the winner will earn a cash prize of $40 m ( about N6.4billion), and the loser $30m ( about N4.8billion).
To qualify for Sunday’s final game, PSG mauled defending champions, Real Madrid, comprehensively with goals from Fabian ( a brace), Ousmane Dembele and Gonzales Neves.
Fabian knocked early- in the fifth minute of play- to give PSG a vital lead and big psychological boost, after he latched on a defensive blunder by the Madrid back line.
As Fabian netted, the part of the stadium housing the PSG supporters erupted in euphoria.
Shortly afterwards, Ousmane Dembele, running like a mule, capitalized on another defensive blunder to register a vital second goal for the French side. That was in the eighth .minute.
Restless Fabian was on course again in the 24th minute when he netted his second of the night and the third for his team.
Outplayed in every department, Madrid could not respond decisively, hence the first half ended on a note of 3-0 in favour of PSG.
On resumption, Madrid tried to retool for greater prospects, but their efforts yielded no goals , as hard as they made efforts.
And just when everyone thought that there were going to be no more goals, PSG significantly worsened the woes of Madrid by netting a vital fourth goal via Gonzales Neves.
