Defending champions, Bayana Bayana, Pip Ghana’s Black Queens 2-0

Defending Champions, Bayana Bayana of South Africa beat Ghana’s Black Queens by two goals to nil in their tonight’s tie at the Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Championship in Morocco.
The South Africans dominated play in the first stanza of play and went ahead in the 23rd minute when , following a foul in the 18 yard box, Mothlatho stepped forward to slot the penalty kick beyond the reach of the goalkeeper for the Black Queens.
Bayana Bayana increased their tally in the 32nd minute through their number 12 and ended the first stanza in a two goals to nil.
Ghana came back the more dominant of the two teams in the second half and hit the cross bar twice for their efforts, as no side could get any goal in that stanza.
By the victory, South Africa broke the jinx of their cycle of three first game losses to Ghana.
