Super Falcons Beat Tunisia 3-0 in opening game

Ninth time African Champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria, tonight beat Tunisia by three goals to nil in their opening game at the 2024 edition of the CAF Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Championship in Morocco .
Ageless Assisat Oshoala opened scores for the Nigerians in the fourth minute with a deft touch from a free kick.
They earned the second of the night in the 42nd minute via Babajide .
What should have been a third for Nigeria was disallowed in the 45th minute for infringement on Tunisian goalkeeper, Ibrahim.
The first half ended two goals to nil in favour of the Falcons.
When play resumed, Nigeria retained dominance of play and netted a third in 81st minute through substitute Chinwe Ihezuo.
Tunisia almost pulled one back in the third and last minute of added time when their strike hit the cross bar.
By the victory, Nigeria earned three vital points from a game in which they did not show fluency and enough capacity to convert their glaring chances.
In the other matches of the day, Morocco and Zambia drew two goals apiece , while Senegal walloped the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by four goals to nil.
