Court Jails Solar street light vandal in Delta state
The Chief Magistrates Court in Agbor, Delta State, has sentenced one Obi Lordson to three years jail term for vandalizing and confiscating solar street lights installed by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, at Agbor -Alidinma Community.in Ika South Local Government Area of the state.
He was jailed recently after he was charged to the Chief Magistrates Court in Agbor on Tuesday, June 4. Obi Lordson is a native of Umuaja but, resides at Agbor -Alidinma where he engaged in the criminal act.
Reacting to the judgement, the President General, Agbor Community Union, Prof Onyemaechi Ugboh hailed the outcome, noting that the legal prosecution of Obi Lordson would serve as an example to other people who were in the business of vandalizing government projects.
He thanked the Chairman and members of Agbor Alidinma Vigilante Group for the great role they played in the arrest and prosecution of Obi Lordson, urging them not to relent.
He commended Hon Fred Ofume for notifying Agbor Community Union on the solar street light issue at Agbor -Alidinma and also for ensuring that justice was not compromised.
“I’m happy that the solar street light vandal from Umuaja, Obi Lordson, Obi was jailed. The judgement by the Chief Magistrates Court in Agbor serves as a serious warning to any criminal in our midst, ” Prof Ugboh stated
He assured that the umbrella group, (ACU)w would continue to do her best to promote and secure Agbor.
