It was celebration time at the University of Delta, Agbor, on Thursday as students turned out enmass to commemorate the 2025 Cultural Day.
The annual event, which is set aside to celebrate the cultural heritage, endowment and traditions of different nationalities in the country, took place at the school’s football pitch, Agbor Campus.
Shortly after the opening formalities, the students took to the stage, dressed in colourful cultural attires of different Nigerian ethnic groups.
While there was a brief musical interlude, the atmosphere got more electrified as the students danced enthusiastically.
The high point came when the cultural exhibition took the centre stage with different cultural groups participating.They were the National Association of lka Students, Isoko Students Association, Association of Aniocha/Ndokwa Students.
Others were ljaw Students Association, Association of Edo Students, Hausa/Fulani Students Association, and National Association of Igbo Students.
At the end of the interesting and entertaining exhibition, the various groups danced together to the admiration of their friends and course mates.
In his closing remarks, the Dean of Students Advisory Services, Dr. Rufus ljeh, charged the students to embrace their indigenous cultures , especially their languages.
The students expressed gratitude to the management of UNIDEL for putting up such an exciting event. They noted that the programme gave them a good opportunity to showcase their talents.
