Trump Piles More Pressure on Harvard Varsity
American President, Donald Trump, today continued piling more pressure on Harvard University.
He is demanding the full names and countries of origin of its foreign students.
In a media chat, Trump said it would be unfair to continue to allow students from ‘hostile countries’ to enjoy the huge American government’ s financial investment in the prestigious institution, while they and their countries antagonize it and Israel.
He did not elaborate what he meant by hostile countries, but , just like Israeli leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump had called out the management of Harvard and those of Columbia and several other universities, fir allegedly tolerating Anti-Semitism on campus.
Anti-Semitism is the generic term for views critical of Israel and its policies, especially as they affect other races.
There was no indication as to how long Trump would give the management of Harvard to supply the required data, but the university had refused to comply with earlier demands in that regard by the Trump Presidency via the Department of Homeland Security.
Harvard management had sued the government, and obtained a temporary relief by a judicial halt to the implementation of the policy.
Aside from its current demand, Trump had withheld about $3 billion grant to the Ivory tower, which has global fame for its ground -breaking researches.
Harvard, Columbia and several other universities in America have come under attack by the Trump Presidency for allowing in- campus Anti- Israeli protests at the ongoing Israeli military campaign on Gaza and the West Bank, as well as its humanitarian blockade of Gaza.
