Trump Lands in Qatar From Saudi Arabia On Official Visit
American President, Donald Trump, has arrived at Hamid International Airport,Doha, as he began his two – day visit to Qatar.
He arrived at 11.15GMT, aboard Air Force One,his official aircraft, escorted by Qatari Air Force F15 jets.
He was received by the Emir of the Emirate, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thami.
Both men are expected to have dinner together this evening , after preliminary talks that are expected to focus on trade and diplomacy relating to the peace in the Middle East, especially Gaza and other parts of historic Palestine under Israeli occupation.
Qatar,together with Egypt, has been at the heart of the global diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing military conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The conflict has resulted in the death of more than 60,000 Palestinians and the injury to many more others, according to figures issued by the Hamas- led government in the Gaza Strip.
Israel’s military to stranglehold on Gaza and the Occupied West Bank continued today, with the killing of more than 70 Palestinians and the injury to many more, during raids on a hospital, a residential block and a refugee camp in Khan Youis.
Israel and America have jointly proposed a novel way to resume aid distribution in Gaza, side stepping the United Nations, and also the relocation of Palestinians away from Gaza.
But, like much of the rest of the world, the Arab nations have yet to agree to the proposal by America and Israel.
However,Trump is expected to try and get the buy in of Qatar and Egypt for the proposal.
Qatar has a long standing warm relationship x though both have never had a similar position on Israel and its conduct in Palestine.
