UGHELLI NORTH LG DISSOLVES REVENUE COMMITTEE

The Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun (Barr) Jaro Egbo has officially dissolved the Ughelli North Motor Park Revenue Committee, previously led by Mr. Gowon Egoide.

News of the decision was disclosed in an official statement released on Friday and signed by the Secretary to the Local Government, Pastor Goodluck Unuavworho.

The statement said the dissolution followed the committee’s alleged failure to provide proper and transparent financial accounts to the local government, a key responsibility of its mandate.

Besides, the Non-Market Revenue Committee, jointly chaired by Mr.Jude Oharisi and Mr.Igho Oraka, has also been dissolved.
The local government cited similar issues of accountability and non-compliance with financial regulatory standards as the predicate of its action.

Consequently, the Chairman, Egbo, has directed that all official documents, financial records, and any other property belonging to the local government held by the dissolved committees be immediately handed over to the Head of Revenue, Ughelli North Local Government.

The Local Government reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective revenue management, and assured the public that appropriate measures were being put in place to ensure better oversight and performance moving forward.
