Port Harcourt witnessed a major demonstration on Tuesday as hundreds of supporters of the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, took to the streets to demand his immediate reinstatement.
Dressed in black and holding placards bearing messages such as, “We want back our Governor, we all voted for,” and “Governor Fubara is the pride of Rivers People,” the demonstrators began their march from Aggrey Road in Old Port Harcourt Township.
Since Governor Fubara’s suspension, his supporters have voiced their deep frustration, describing the move as a political injustice and a betrayal of the people’s will. They have continued to emphasize unity, calling on both state and federal authorities to honor the democratic mandate that brought Fubara into office.
