From your early days as a geologist at the then–Nigerian National Oil Company, later the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), you rose through the ranks to become the first Manager of the National Reserve Evaluation Project — a testament to your dedication, expertise, and work ethic.
Your career trajectory continued its upward momentum as you served as Managing Director of the Nigerian Gas Company and Group General Manager of the Crude Oil Marketing Division at NNPC in 1998.
In 1999, you assumed the position of Group Managing Director of NNPC, where you introduced a series of robust reforms aimed at repositioning the nation’s oil and gas industry.
Your legacy spans the full breadth of the sector — from onshore to offshore operations, deep offshore exploration, gas development, pipeline and depot construction, refinery rehabilitation, LNG development, and global petroleum diplomacy.
Drawing from your deep understanding of the industry, you championed comprehensive operational and legal reforms, advanced external marketing strategies, and spearheaded the development of mega stations across the country.
Today, your enduring legacy at NNPC remains widely acknowledged and fondly remembered.
