The Federal Government has expressed readiness to collaborate with the United States and other countries to completely eliminate remnants of terrorists and criminal elements operating in Nigeria.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated this during a world press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.
While acknowledging that Nigeria continues to grapple with security challenges, Idris clarified that such threats are not targeted at any religion or ethnic group, contrary to claims based on “faulty data.”
According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has in the last two years demonstrated renewed commitment to tackling insecurity, which is reflected in Nigeria’s improved ranking on the Global Terrorism Index and the recent overhaul of the nation’s security leadership.
He appealed to the United States and other partner nations to continue supporting President Tinubu’s administration in its efforts to rid the country of terrorists and criminals making life difficult for Nigerians.
